Therapeutic Yoga

Therapeutic Yoga Sessions: Yoga, Reiki, Therapeutic Touch--Combining the Life Force Energy, which flows through all living beings. Reiki is a very ancient science healing method that was hidden for thousands of years and rediscovered by Dr. Mikado Usui in Tibetan Sanskrit sutras at the end of the 19th century. Therapeutic Touch (TT) is a combinatin of several ancient healing practices, based on the principle that human beings are energy fields. TT was developed in the early 1970s through the pioneering work of Dolores Krieger, Ph.D., R.N., a professor at New York University, and Dora Kunz, a natural healer.   Yoga comes from the Sanskrit word "yuj" meaning union. The vision of yoga is an unbroken awareness of oneness within the mind, body, and spirit. The practitioner of yoga (yogi/yogini) moves toward creating relaxation and peace to the constant swirl of the mind. As the mind moves into stillness, the body relaxes and the spirit moves into optimum healing, opening, and the awareness of self and the universe.   Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and Yoga are not belief systems so no mental preparation or direction is needed--only a desire to receive and accept energy. Therapeutic Yoga is a method of healing that is natural and this natural flow of energy leads us to a greater health, harmony, and success.   Combining the art of Yoga, Therapeutic Touch, and Reiki produces free flowing energy in the body. Most dis-ease (the obstruction of energy) occurs when our thoughts and emotions are out of alignment. The techniques of Reiki and Therapeutic Touch loosen up blocked energy and promote healing. Yoga keeps the body flexible and balanced. Energy bodywork helps each individual release energy blocks and connected emotions, which in turn helps the release of the causal level of disease or illness. Yoga helps keep the body-mind and spirit connected to the process, feel and release of emotions.   Creating clarity and focus, relaxation, and peace comes from the blending of Reiki, Therapeutic Touch, and Yoga. These three ancient practices move and flow as the practitioner guides you through energy bodywork, some assisted yoga positions, and relaxation. Guided imagery, affirmations, and conscious breathing help the individual find balance and harmony in the body, mind, and spirit.     Each priviate Therapeutic Yoga session is one to one and a half hours long for $60.00.
